ARTISTA Mentorship 2023

Lior returns to mentor the ninth edition of Imago Theatre’s ARTISTA Mentorship Program.

WHAT

ARTISTA is a free theatre mentorship program for women, gender-diverse, trans, and non-binary people, ages 17-22.

WHEN

ARTISTA is a 15 week program from January to May, on Monday nights, from 5-9 PM. Each session starts with a dinner provided for all participants.

HOW

Mentors guide participants in crafting stories, supporting them toward a public performance.

ARTISTA empowers participants to tell their own stories and share these stories with the world. Participants explore performance creation through theatrical experimentation under the mentorship of professional artists, to build independence and confidence in themselves and their artistic craftsmanship.

Our supportive and brave learning environment encourages participants to develop self-confidence, their artistic vocabulary, and gain a sense of community.

Each session is an opportunity for participants, mentors, and special guests - accomplished artists with diverse practices - to gather, share, discuss, and collectively turn their minds toward the world. Participants bravely engage in creation workshops focusing on a variety of theatre practices.

Attending ARTISTA, and live performances as a group, gives insight into the diverse facets of the Montreal and the Canadian theatre industry and nurtures participants’ critical thinking and artistic vocabulary.
